A 45-year-old man is in garda custody in connection with a €1.2m cannabis seizure in Co Meath.

At around 7am this morning, officers from the Santry Divisional Taskforce Unit stopped a lorry at Gormanstown and discovered 170 kilos of cannabis resin during a search.

The drugs have been removed to Garda headquarters for a technical examination.

A man was arrested at the scene and is being held at Balbriggan garda station in Dublin.
