Gardaí are warning that any headshops that break the law will be prosecuted.

Gardaí are warning that any headshops that break the law will be prosecuted.

The Garda National Drugs Unit is working with other Government departments to police the 'legal high' shops - which have come under increased scrutiny recently.

A number of premises around the country are already facing legal action for breaches of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Outlining their approach, the Gardaí say both covert and overt operations are underway to keep watch on the premises - of which there are more than 70 nationwide.
