Bank of Ireland introduces more charges

Some Bank of Ireland customers are to face fees and charges for the first time in the New Year.

From February 21, current account holders will have to have at least €1,000 going into their account every month or make at least nine payments, using Banking 365 phone or on-line banking, every three months.

If they don't they will face a charge of 28 cent for each transaction.

At the moment, anyone who keeps a balance of at least €500 in their current account or makes three payments every three months qualifies for free banking.
