Irish advertising agencies are predicting growth in the sector and have increased confidence in their future performance, according to the latest industry census.
The survey, carried out for the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland, found that 78% of advertising agencies thought turnover for the industry will increase in 2014 (compared to 20% in 2013).
A majority also felt they would see growth this year - with an average of 13% growth estimated. Hiring has also jumped by 22% in the past year.
Creative advertising agencies reported an average income of €3,101,508, while media billings - which includes advertising purchases made on behalf of clients - reported an average gross billing of €39,696,672.
“The Census shows a marked improvement in optimism across the industry," said Orlaith Blaney, President of IAPI.
"It’s encouraging that agencies are generally more positive in their outlook not just for their own agencies but for the industry as a whole."
45 of the 49 IAPI members responded to the survey.
