Most teens expect to work for nothing at first - UK survey

A UK survey has found that most 16- to 19-year-olds expect to have to do unpaid work experience to secure a decent job.

A survey of almost 1,000 youngsters by finance firm Friends Life has found girls more likely to believe they would have to work for nothing for a period of time.

The survey comes against the background of a campaign by unions against unpaid internships, which are becoming commonplace in some industries.
