Nintendo has posted a 61% drop in quarterly operating profit and has forecast an operating loss of $580m (€441.3m) for the year to March.

Nintendo has posted a 61% drop in quarterly operating profit and has forecast an operating loss of $580m (€441.3m) for the year to March.

The figure is far worse than market expectations.

The company has been hit by weak sales and the strong yen, as well as growing competition from Sony, Microsoft and Apple.
