Here are four of the best trailers released at this year's Comic Con

Every year, comic book fans, cosplayers, celebrities and every kind of nerd you can imagine head to San Diego for the biggest Comic Con in the world. Over 170,000 people attended this years event over the weekend.

The packed weekend features film and TV trailers, press conferences, interviews, panel discussions, exhibitions and a general celebration of comic book culture.

The most exciting things to come out of Comic Con are usually the teaser trailers for fan-favourite films and this year is no exception.

Here are some of the best.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

Katniss returns for the penultimate instalment of the Hunger Games series, Mockingjay Part 1. The one-minute long trailer show Katniss Everdeen joining the rebels as President Snow begins a crackdown on those who resist the Capitol.

The teaser also features the dearly-missed Philip Seymour Hoffman who passed away just before the end of filming as well as new cast members Julianne Moore and Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer.

Mad Max: Fury Road

English actor Tom Hardy plays a young Max alongside a shaven-headed Charlize Theron in this post-apocalyptic prequel to the 80s classic.

The film is set for release in May 2015. Expect explosions, sand and a whole lotta pain.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

The third and final instalment of the Hobbit trilogy is almost here and to whet your appetite, they've released the first trailer.

As expected, it's heavy on the CGI and the drama and it remains to be seen if it will satisfy all those devoted fans of the book.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

It's been years since the cult classic Sin City was released and now co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have reunited to bring another of the iconic graphic novels to the screen. Weaving together two of Miller's classic stories with some new ones, the trailer promises a lot of badassery.

And Jessica Alba, of course.
