'Steamy' Dublin family take ice bucket challenge for mammy

The ice bucket challenge just got sexy.

The O'Shaughnessy family from Kilnamanagh in Dublin have raised the temperature for the MND fundraiser by posting a steamy video of their dousing.

Their Mam, Christine, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in May, and they wanted to show their appreciation for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, by submitting themselves to the ordeal.

Displaying a brilliant sense of humour, they start it all off with a risque appreciation of her wheelchair.

Er, and then Christine's son-in-law Alan Heffernan got things going nicely. Nice eye brow raise, Alan.

While Alan truly got into the spirit of it, daughter-in-law Sinead Dowdall didn't seem so sure.

Cue Christine's son, Luke, who shows Sinead how to do it.

Followed by his brother, Eric. Love the shorts.

And sis, Joy.

Before the comedy highlight, Sam.

Of course Dad, Philip, had to outshine the rest of them. Did ye cet the idea off Alan?

Before mam, Christine, provides the grand finale.

Her son Luke told breakingnews.ie: "Our mam Christine was diagnosed in May of this year with Motor Neurone Disease. Since diagnosis, she has lost the use of one arm and can no longer walk unassisted. It's a cruel illness that ultimately has devastating consequences.

"As a family we try and be as positive about things as we can. We deal with it by supporting each other and with as much humour and positivity as possible! I suppose this makes it easier to cope, to support my mam, and each other.

"So the ice bucket challenge is a cause and a charity close to our family’s heart."

Take a bow lads, well done!

We'll leave the final word to Luke.

"Since diagnosis, we’ve experienced the care and wonderful work that the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association provides," he said.

"The association is the only support organisation for people with MND; their families, friends and carers in Ireland. They cannot slow the progression of MND or change the outcome but they aim to improve quality of life."

To donate €2 to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, text MND to 50300, or donate online: www.imnda.ie.
