Automated dog-fouling speakers for Clare beaches

Dog owners who don't clean up after their pets might just be embarrassed into doing it, as a new system is installed in Co. Clare.

Beaches in Lahinch and Kilkee have been fitted with high-tech tannoys which will advise beach goers to clean up.

The system is motion activated, with warning messages played out everytime a member of the public or a dog, comes close to the sensor.

They will be switched off at night so revellers won't be encouraged to investigate them.
