Bank of Ireland: All payments in place before day’s end

Bank of Ireland have said they have released payments to other banks after an issue caused a delay in public sector workers receiving their wages.

For the second time in four weeks, thousands of public sector workers have not received their wages due to a problem at Bank of Ireland.

Several government departments, who pay their wages through Bank of Ireland, have confirmed that many workers did not receive their pay as usual this morning.

This time, customers of Bank of Ireland have been paid, while the customers of other banks will face a minor delay in receiving their pay.

Bank of Ireland apologised for the delay and added that many payments had now been processed, with the rest due to be sitting in accounts before the end of the day.
