Dell approved for €54m subsidy for move to Poland
Dell has won EU approval to receive a €54m subsidy from the Polish government to move its Irish operations there.
The computer company announced earlier this year that it was closing its Limerick facility, with the loss of almost 2,000 jobs.
The European Commission said it could allow the government aid because the new factory will be established in the city of Lodz, which has an unusually low standard of living and high unemployment.
