Firefighters have spent more than seven hours tackling a huge blaze at an industrial premises in Macroom, Co Cork.

Firefighters have spent more than seven hours tackling a huge blaze at an industrial premises in Macroom, Co Cork.

The fire, which broke out at the pallets manufacturing firm, Mid-Cork Pallets at 7.30am this morning, continues to rage.

Four fire crews are currently at the scene and it is understood the premises is completely destroyed. The company employs 100 people and was established more than 30 years ago.

No one has been injured in the incident.
