Four people, including two children, have escaped unhurt after an arson attack at their County Tyrone home.

Police received a report of the fire at 3.30am this morning.

A tyre had been put against the front door of the premises in the Castle Mews area of Cookstown and set alight, causing smoke damage to the house.

A woman aged in her 50s, a man aged in his 30s and two boys escaped uninjured.
