Further tests are to be carried out on the bodies of a man and a woman found at a house near Askeaton in Co Limerick yesterday.

Post mortems were carried out on the badly decomposed remains last night, but no cause of death was established.

More testing will now be conducted, which is likely to take some days.

Gardaí have said the bodies have yet to be positively identified. It's understood notes were found in the house with instructions on what to do with their remains.

However, local reports suggest the remains are those of local farmer Thomas Ruttle, who was 56, and 65-year-old Julia Holmes who was wanted by Gardaí, the PSNI and the FBI on fraud charges.
