Man dies of smoke inhalation

A post mortem carried out on the body of an elderly man has revealed that he died as a result of burns and smoke inhalation.

A post mortem carried out on the body of an elderly man has revealed that he died as a result of burns and smoke inhalation.

Ted Foley, who was in his 80s, was found dead at his home in Co Offaly yesterday.

However, gardai say they are continuing to treat the death as suspicious.

They are still trying to establish the exact cause of the fatal blaze.
