A new study, the first of its kind in Ireland, is examining how brain exercises can improve healthy ageing in people with Down Syndrome.

Researchers at Trinity College are carrying out the analysis amid growing concern about levels of dementia in an ageing Down Syndrome population.

They will also examine varying standards of care, support and diagnostic pathways around the country.

Dementia is a critical issue for adults with Down Syndrome, in terms of rates of occurrence and early onset.
