A fire at the Dublin Port Tunnel has closed both the North and South Bores, leading to major traffic delays.

The Dublin Fire Brigade are at the scene where an oil tanker is on fire, and they have confirmed that the fire is under control.

Authorities have advised motorists to use alternative routes, while emergency services clear the area.

One person, @johnrooney12, tweeted from the scene saying the lights had gone off inside the tunnel and traffic was stopped.

He then tweeted that Dublin Fire Brigade had advised that nobody could leave the tunnel through the fire exits.
