Teenagers are being urged not to jump into canals to cool off during the good weather.

Teenagers are being urged not to jump into canals to cool off during the good weather.

It comes after children in Dublin have said they use the canals because they are free and there are no local alternatives.

Dublin Councillor Greg Kelly said: "I'd encourage the young people to find alternative swimming pools where there are lifeguards. We wouldn’t like to see any accidents in our canals."
