Up to 100 jobs are due to be created in Irish IT company Version 1. Version 1 provides IT consulting, services, and solutions to business.

The €8m investment is supported by the BDO Development Capital Fund, in the first allocation since the launch of the €75m fund by the Minister for Jobs in March of this year.

The investment will allow Version 1's further expansion into the UK and the creation of up to 100 additional IT consultancy jobs in Ireland.

E-Commerce manager for RecruitIreland.com, Diarmuid McCarthy said: "It is fantastic to see further growth in the IT sector in Dublin. Irish-owned companies such as Version 1 are playing a key role in maintaining our position on the world stage.

"IT remains in the top five categories for candidates registering and jobs posted on RecruitIreland.com."

The company currently employs 500 people. Its Irish headquarters are in Dublin.

The company was founded in 1996 and is one of the fastest growing IT services companies in western Europe.

The project is supported by the Department of Jobs through Enterprise Ireland.
