Clare Priest dies as car goes off pier

A Clare priest has died after the vehicle he was driving went into Liscannor Pier.

A Clare priest has died after the vehicle he was driving went into Liscannor Pier.

It's understood the cleric, in his 60s, was a parish priest in the county and had been in poor health.

An eyewitness spotted the car entering the water via the slip way.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and recovered the body.

The dead man's name has not yet been released.
