Two more arrests made in Omagh bomb probe

Gardai have arrested two men near the Northern border in connection with the 1998 Omagh bombing.

Gardai have arrested two men near the Northern border in connection with the 1998 Omagh bombing.

A man in his 40s was arrested in Co Monaghan, while a man in his 30s was arrested in Co Louth.

Both men were arrested at their homes and are being held in Carrickmacross Garda Station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. They can be questioned for up to 72 hours before being charged or released.

Three other people were arrested in connection with the 1998 bombing in recent weeks, but all were subsequently released without charge.
