Kelly Osbourne has admitted her first album was a publicity stunt - but she has promised to make up for it with her next release.

The singer's first attempt to follow in the footsteps of her rocker father Ozzy failed to inspire the music-buying public. But she insists it wasn't her true sound.

This time around Osbourne worked with songwriting mentor Linda Perry to create a brand new sound - and her first single One word has already hit the top ten in the US.

She says: "I feel as though I was very young. It was a great opportunity, but it was a big marketing ploy.

"I was kind of trapped in their weird corporate world that I didn't want to be in."
