Portugal has revealed its budget deficit has ballooned way above target.
The troubling update comes on the day the Portuguese president dissolved parliament and set a snap election for June 5.
It means Portugal now faces two months without a government, while also facing debt repayments it cannot afford, and growing pressure to take a bailout from the EU and IMF.
