19 people have died as a result of construction related deaths so far this year.
In response to this the Health and Safety Authority are urging those working on construction sites to take extra care and vigilance in the run up to Christmas.
The HAS say in the past 10 years, falls from heights have killed 74 people in the construction industry.
They say high winds may affect those working at heights.
The authority is also warning all those involved in construction to be extra vigilant as evenings are dark and pressure is on to complete projects before the end of the year.
They say these figures are a stark reminder that construction sites remain a high-risk place to work.
