Coronation Street's Tracy Barlow is set to make a sensational Christmas Eve comeback.
The Weatherfield baddie - who was imprisoned for life for the murder of her ex-boyfriend Charlie Stubbs in 2007 - is to return to the ITV1 soap after being cleared of the offence in a retrial.
Viewers will first see temptress Tracy - played by actress Kate Ford - in prison discussing her appeal with solicitors during the lead-up to the show's upcoming 50th anniversary scenes.
A 'Coronation Street' insider told Soaplife magazine: "It's a master stroke to bring Tracy back. We have some terrific storylines for her, there's so much to go at.
"She's uncompromising, feisty and downright evil when she wants to be."
However, Tracy's return to the 'Corrie' cobbles is likely to cause havoc for her ex Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and daughter Amy (Elle Mulvaney), who have since happily set up home with Rovers Return barmaid Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly).
Kate recently admitted she was "terrified" about resuming the role of her alter-ego, as she had got used to spending time at home with her two-year-old son Otis.
She explained: "When you've been at home with a baby, you're so used to spending time one-on-one that going back to work is really terrifying.
"As anyone who has had a baby and spent time at home knows, you lose your confidence a bit. But it's not new for me to be a nervous wreck, just to varying degrees."
