Actor Kevin Bacon became an actor because he craved love and admiration from "the entire world".

The Mystic River star complains he wasn't satisfied by the affection of his family and friends, so turned to movies in a bid to attract worldwide respect and adoration, website PageSix.com reports.

He admits: 'I don't remember not wanting people to look at me when I walked into a room. Even before I knew what an actor was.
