Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban are said to be considering doing a deal on the handover of Osama bin Laden in return for international recognition of the Taliban as a government.

According to reports emanating from the Pakistani capital Islamabad, the Taliban may be prepared to turn in bin Laden, the chief suspect for the US atrocity, under certain conditions.

However, the Taliban are said to be asking if he can be handed over to a country other than America. Senior Islamic clerics, who will decide bin Laden’s fate, have postponed their until tomorrow, or even Thursday.
