Loans to households continued to decline last month, according to new figures released by the Central Bank today.
Loans to households were 3.9% lower at €167 in March 2012 compared to the same month last year.
Loans for consumption purposes and house purchases declined by at €115m and €59m respectively. Loans for other purposes increased by €7m over the period, however.
This follows a 4% decline in overall household borrowing for the year ending February 2012.
