One of Towie’s biggest stars, Nanny Pat has died at the age of 80.

The famous grandmother of Mark and Jessica Wright has starred on the reality show from the beginning and sadly passed away following a short illness.

The Wright family confirmed the news in a short statement released today.

"Sadly our amazing, courageous and beautiful Nanny Pat passed away this morning after a short illness," a spokesperson for the family said.

"We are overwhelmed by sadness, and the whole family ask for privacy at this horrible time."

The star - who celebrated her Royal Wedding-themed 80th birthday on the show only a month ago - is famous for her classic one liners and of course THAT rap.
