Dolphin 3 Galwegians 20
Galwegians may have left it too late to haul themselves out of last place in Division One but this afternoon they did enough to earn just their second win of the season, 20-3 against a disappointing Dolphin side.
Left wing John Cleary stepped in to the Galwegians' line to finish off a well-worked move on 19 minutes for the opening score.
Out-half David Delaney converted and tagged on a penalty for a half-time lead of 10-0.
Scrum-half Michael Roche got over for his first league try of the season on 48 minutes before the league's record points scorer John O'Mahony (1228 pts) hit his side's only points of the afternoon from 25 metres.
Delaney's second penalty 12 minutes from time, his fourth success, handed Galwegians a prized first win on their travels for 12 games.
