FF slump to new poll low

Fianna Fáil has reached a new low of just 17% in an opinion poll to be published tomorrow.

The RED C survey for the Sunday Business Post sees Labour support remain steady and Fine Gael go up slightly.

The poll was conducted on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week - most of it before it was confirmed the IMF was coming here.

Fianna Fáil has reached a new record low - down one percentage point to 17% - meaning that it would stand to lose more than half its Dáil seats if the results were to be repeated in a general election.

Fine Gael remains the most popular party in the country according to this RED C series - going up one to 33%.

Labour stays steady on 27% after a massive surge last month.

Sinn Féin breaks the 10% mark or the first time in two years - going up two percentage points to 11%.

The Greens lose one point to 3% and Independents are down two points to 8%.

However it will probably be the next poll before an accurate reflection of support for Fianna Fáil can be measured following the confirmation of an IMF intervention and details of the December 6 Budget.
