Bradley pays tribute to Connacht players

Connacht coach Michael Bradley paid tribute to his side for the way they carved out the 10-6 win over Glasgow.

The win moves Connacht off the bottom and above Ulster on points difference going into Christmas and coming up to the halfway point in this season’s Magners League.

“We were disappointed with the way the Ulster match had gone the previous week so it was important to get the victory this time.

“Perhaps what was more important was the standard of the performance, often in very trying conditions,” said Bradley following the wind and rain lashed encounter.

And he paid tribute to the crowd of almost 1,200 who turned out in force on an appalling night.

“You could see at the end of the game the reaction from both the supporters and the players that they enjoyed the contest and the reward of the win,” he said.

Connacht led 7-3 at the break thanks to a stoppage time try from hooker Adrian Flavin while the boot of Andy Dunne provided the remainder.

“We understand that the season ahead is very difficult and the teams we're going to be playing against, in nearly all cases will be favourites against us, but if we perform like that we'll be very difficult to break down and we should get our fair share of victories,” added Bradley.

“We limited Glasgow's opportunities in the first half when they had the wind and it was at its strongest. We were very disciplined in defence throughout the whole match and I thought this time more than we were in Firhill, we dominated the breakdown and got go-forward ball from the 50-50 situations which ultimately won us the game.

“Overall, it was a good win and one that will boost confidence,” added the Connacht coach.
