An elderly man has died after an overnight fire at his home in Co Donegal.

An elderly man has died after an overnight fire at his home in Co Donegal.

The blaze broke out near the near the town of Inver some time before 9pm last night.

The victim, who was in his 80s, is understood to have been alone in the house at the time.

The cause of the fire is not known, but gardaí say it does not appear to be suspicious.
