Woman dies after being struck by bus in Cork

A woman has died after being struck by a bus Cork city centre this evening.

A woman has died after being struck by a bus Cork city centre this evening.

The accident occured close to the city's Parnell Place bus station shortly before 5pm.

The middle-aged pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí have begun an investigation and the area has been closed off to allow crash investigators examine the scene.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at Anglesea St Garda Station on 021 4522000.
