Tuesday afternoon’s meeting at Bath had to be abandoned after the fifth race due to dense fog.

Officials at the track were forced to call a halt to the eight-race card when the fog, which had been lingering all afternoon, descended even further to make visibility extremely difficult.

The jockeys on the way to the start for the Indian Maiden – Group Win Success 2006 Handicap at 4.30 complained on the way down to the start that conditions were dangerous and after an initial delay a halt was called to proceedings.
