Police have confirmed a man, woman and two children have died in a shooting incident in Camberley, Surrey.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police were first alerted to the situation because worried friends were concerned about milk and post building up on the doorstep."

Barbara MacDonald, chief reporter at the Camberley News, said the shooting took place at Heathside, an affluent estate on the outskirts of Camberley.

It was believed to involve a mother and father and two children.

Surrey Ambulance Service said it had not been alerted to the incident.

Forensic officers were understood to be at the scene in the Heatherside district of Camberley.

Ms MacDonald added: "Police cordoned off the estate this morning at 9.30am. They completely sealed it off and were not allowing anybody onto the estate.

"It's a fairly small estate of 30 to 40 houses and as far as I'm aware there are not armed police there."
