IFA misleading farmers, says meat association

The meat association has accused the Irish Farmers Association of deceiving farmers that high cattle prices can be sustained.

The meat association has accused the Irish Farmers Association of deceiving farmers that high cattle prices can be sustained.

In advance of IFA-supported protests due to start at meat plants this evening the meat association said that the prices paid for cattle throughout Ireland this year had been consistently higher than last year.

It is thought that they were about 2% higher.
