Woman killed in road accident

A 31-year-old woman has died in a road crash near Navan in County Meath.

A 31-year-old woman has died in a road crash near Navan in County Meath.

The woman was driving a car which went out of control and crashed into a tree at Mooretown on the Kentstown Road in Navan.

No other car was involved.

A passing motorist discovered the crash at about 2.20am this morning.

The Fire Service was called to the scene to free the woman from her car, and she was taken to Our Ladys Hospital in Navan, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The woman's name will not be released until all next of kin have been notified.
