Ireland’s Fergal O’Brien is out of the Benson and Hedges Masters in Wembley after losing to Alan McManus last night.
The Scot booked a place in the semi-finals after emerging from an extremely dull match with a 6-4 victory.
His highest break was a 49 in the first frame, while O’Brien could only manage a 59.
McManus will meet Paul Hunter in the last-four after the young Englishman beat Peter Ebdon 6-5 in the second quarter-final yesterday.
Hunter knocked in breaks of 54, 105, 56, 55 and 80 on his way to victory.
