Former Wexford hurling star Liam Dunne has laughed off speculation that he called time on his career this week because of his AllStar snub last year.

Dunne appeared a dead cert to pick up his fourth AllStar but was controversially overlooked by selectors, though the 1996 All-Ireland winning hero says it had nothing to do with his retirement.

Dunne said: "Not winning a fourth AllStar hurts - you have to listen to everyone telling you that you should have got one. It had nothing to do with my decision to retire though, absolutely not."
