The Court of Criminal Appeal is due to deliver its judgement today on the appeal of Paul Ward against his conviction for the murder of journalist, Veronica Guerin.

Ward, 37, was convicted for his part in the murder of Guerin in 1998 and is serving a life sentence at Portlaoise prison.

Ward’s appeal rests on the disputed evidence of state protected witness, Charles Bowden, whose credibility as a witness has been questioned by Ward’s counsel. His appeal was held over four days earlier this month, with judgement reserved on March 8.
