The latest night of snowfall has put paid to Exeter’s chance of racing on Sunday.

Over eight inches has fallen leaving officials with no option but to pull stumps early.

“It was a bit of a freak last night because we were not forecast anything like that,” said clerk of the course Barry Johnson.

“As you can imagine it’s chaos around here at the moment.

“Even if it melts it would leave us waterlogged but there is more snow forecast.”
