Gardai seek help after Mullingar bank raid

Gardai in Co Westmeath are seeking the public's help in tracing two men who robbed a small sum of money from a bank in Mullingar.

Gardai in Co Westmeath are seeking the public's help in tracing two men who robbed a small sum of money from a bank in Mullingar.

The incident took place at around 4.30pm when the pair entered the AIB bank on Oliver Plunkett St, reached over the counter and grabbed a small amount of cash.

A bank clerk tried to hold onto one of the men as he was reaching for the money.

It is not known if there were any weapons used in the raid.

One of the men is described as being 5'10" in height, with dark hair.

He was wearing a dark jacket with a white collar.

The other man is around 5'6", in his early twenties, also with dark hair.

He was wearing a navy jacket.

The raiders are believed to have escaped on foot.
