Foreign Affairs Minister Brian Cowen has received a report into the murder of Irish Archbishop Michael Courtney in the central African state of Burundi on December 29.

Foreign Affairs Minister Brian Cowen has received a report into the murder of Irish Archbishop Michael Courtney in the central African state of Burundi on December 29.

The report was compiled by the Burundi government following an investigation into the killing.

Archbishop Courtney, the Pope’s representative in Burundi, died during an ambush on his car south of the capital, Bujumbura.

The authorities have arrested a suspected member of the Forces for National Liberation in connection with the ambush.
