A new name has been added to the list of IRA victims abducted, shot and secretly buried, it was revealed today.

West Belfast man Peter Wilson, 21, disappeared in 1973.

The Independent Commission for the Location of Victims’ Remains has confirmed Mr Wilson’s disappearance was reported to it and initial enquiries are being made.

A spokesman said: “We can confirm that another case has been reported to the Commission and we are making further enquiries as to where the remains may be located.”

It brings to 14 the number of people buried in unmarked graves, all but one by the IRA.

The IRA has admitted involvement in nine of the cases but denied the others.

Vulnerable with learning difficulties, Mr Wilson disappeared from his home in the St James’ area of west Belfast at the height of the conflict.

It is understood investigations are at a very early stage.
