Tipperary gardai investigate 'suspicious' death

The body of a woman has been found in a Co Tipperary hotel, in what gardaí say are suspicious circumstances.

The body of a woman has been found in a Co Tipperary hotel, in what gardaí say are suspicious circumstances.

The discovery was made in Carrick-on-Suir at about 2am today.

Gardaí are not commenting on how the woman died, other than to say they are treating her death as suspicious.

A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery. He is being held at Clonmel garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and the State Pathologist has been notified.
