FG slams Govt for two-year hospital waiting lists

The Fine Gael party has slammed the Government over the length of hospital waiting lists, some of which are as long as two years.

Fine Gael also claim that 35% of those awaiting treatment at Tallaght hospital have been on the list since 2001.

The opposition party also alleges that waiting lists in the capital have soared by almost a quarter, since the Taoiseach first took office in 1997.

Fine Gael Senator Brian Hayes said the extent of the problem is unbelievable.
