Berlusconi survive no-confidence vote

The Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has survived a key no-confidence vote.

The Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has survived a key no-confidence vote.

It is his first big test since a criminal investigation was launched into one of his Junior Ministers for allegedly being part of a secret society that tried to influence business deals.

The vote in the Italian parliament will now keep Mr Berlusconi's embattled government in power for now.

Some analysts are predicting , however, that it may tempt him to call early elections.
