Galway specialist Ansar has won the Galway Plate for the second consecutive time.

The Dermot Weld trained horse came up on the inside and went in front going over the final fence.

The Galway specialist was followed over the line by Ursumman (14/1), Light on the Broom (25/1) and Junior Fontaine (11/1).

The much fancied Warrens Castle, trained by Willie Mullins, finished fifth.
