Three castrated in China nursing-home attack

A man has been arrested in north-eastern China, accused of cutting off the testicles of three patients in a nursing home.

The man is suspected of tying up two bedridden patients and a mentally disabled one and using a dull razor to castrate them, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

A 60-year-old victim lost both testicles while the other two, aged 53 and 80, lost one each.

Xinhua reported that the victims identified the man as an employee at the home in Qinggang County in Heilongjiang province, but that a staff member said he was a mentally disabled patient.

A man who answered the phone at the county police department said the suspect was being questioned.

A county propaganda official, who only gave her surname, Yang, confirmed the Xinhua report but would not give more details.
